By the next day, my office had already sent over initial concepts.

That evening, over dinner in Rome, we spread the drawings out and began refining them together — making adjustments, discussing ideas, and shaping his vision. What started as a simple sketch on a notepad was quickly evolving into something much more defined.

There’s something unique about working this way — outside the office, in a completely different environment. It strips things back to the essentials and allows ideas to take shape in a more natural, collaborative way.

Once we had a clear direction, I sent everything back to my team in Houston to begin developing the exterior elevations.

What began as a chance conversation in a park was now becoming a real project — with a very real deadline fast approaching.
